December 23, 2011 No commentsForwards Tyler Ross and Nick Thurston each scored 10 points for Danville as the host Warriors held off a pesky Covenant Christian team 52-44.
Danville (4-2) led by 10 after the first period 20-10 before Covenant Christian used some strong play on the glass to cut the deficit to 6 points entering the final period.
Danville led 35-29 to start the fourth quarter and both teams were able to find the basket with more consistency in the final period with Danville out scoring Covenant Christian 17-15 over the final eight minutes.
Covenant Christian’s Ian Asher led all scorers with 15 points.
Danville will play one game over the holiday break when they host Greencastle on December 28th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
