Crash on I-65 in Boone County leaves one dead
January 03, 2012 No commentsA fatal crash closed the southbound lanes of I-65 south of Lebanon Monday evening.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department says 55-year-old Carrine Scott Jr. of Zionsville was driving his Ford Contour south on I-65 near the SR 267 interchange when his vehicle lost control for an unknown reason. The car struck a guardrail on the shoulder, crossed the southbound lanes of traffic, struck another guardrail and traveled into oncoming traffic in the northbound lanes of the interstate.
A semi struck Scott’s car in the northbound lanes of the highway. Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is not known at this time, police say, but weather is not believed to have been a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
