A Brownsburg High School coach was killed when his pickup truck was struck by a train Tuesday morning.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. on a back access road near the 800 block of East Main Street, behind the Thrifty Supply.

Police said the vehicle was dragged at least 40 feet and the driver was partially ejected.

The driver was later identified as 25 year old Jeremy P. Strange who worked as the Brownsburg High School rugby coach.

There was heavy fog in the area Tuesday morning. Police said the access road had only a stop sign at the tracks, but no lights or crossing arms.

High school officials said grief counselors would be available to students.
