The announcement, made Wednesday, comes less than a month after Carpenter won his first career race at Kentucky.
With Fisher, Carpenter has been running a part-time schedule. The new team, Carpenter said, will run full time in 2012 and already has a primary sponsor — Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka. The company is owned by former Masters and U.S. Open champion Fuzzy Zoeller.
Carpenter, the stepson of former Indianapolis Motor Speedway president Tony George, has 113 career starts in nine IndyCar seasons. He has 26 top-10 finishes and been to the podium three times.
