It was a long day for the Brownsburg Bulldogs as the Bulldogs hosted the Zionsville Eagles at Rose Park in a battle of teams at the top of the Hoosier Crossroads Conference standings.

Brownsburg entered the contest with a 16-5 record while the Eagles stand atop the HCC standings with a record of 14-1 and undefeated in HCC play.

It took four hours and eleven innings but the Eagles came out with the victory defeating Brownsburg 7-4.

The Bulldogs had their chances as they loaded the bases twice in the game but failed to capitalize. The Bulldogs also were on the wrong end of a 4-6-5 triple play pulled off by the Eagles. The Bulldogs Sam Sampen did have a good day at the plate with three singles and a home run.

Brownsburg now travels to Zionsville looking to return the favor in a rematch this afternoon at 5:30.
