Brownsburg’s Kenneth Walton had a game-high 19 points and Trevor Lucas chipped in with 11 as the Bulldogs extended their winning streak to 4 games, defeating Plainfield last night by the score of 62 – 54.

The Bulldogs used a strong first half and took an 11 point lead into the locker room at halftime leading the Quakers by the score of 31 – 20.

9 of Lucas’ 11 points came from behind the arc as the Bulldogs hit 8 three-pointers on the night.

While the Quakers had three players score in double figures, Jake Jay with 12 points, Max Kurkowski with 11 and Josh Courtney would 10, the Bulldogs first-half lead would prove too much to overcome.

The loss snapped Plainfield’s own three-game winning streak.

The road win at Plainfield improves Brownsburg’s record to 8 – 9 on the season. It was also the Bulldogs final road game of the regular season. Brownsburg has three games remaining on its regular-season slate beginning this Friday night as the Bulldogs welcome the Bronchos of Lafayette Jefferson to the Varsity Field House. Coach Ronald Nored’s team will wrap up the regular season next week with two home games beginning Monday night against Decatur Central followed by the regular-season finale Wednesday night against Perry Meridian.

The loss drops the Quakers record to 5 – 12 with three games remaining on their schedule. Plainfield travels to Franklin Friday night before hosting Zionsville on Tuesday and wrapping up the regular season next Friday night at Columbus East.
