The Brownsburg boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams turned in outstanding performances Saturday in the Jon Mitchell Invitational at Cascade High School by claiming both championships comfortably over 11 other schools. The girls bested runner-up Eastern Greene by a score of 34 to 72, and the boys outran second-place Cascade 29 to 92. Sydney Lesko led the Bulldogs by claiming the individual championship, and Rachel Smith placed third overall. Rounding out the top five scoring spots were Julia Popenfoose in eighth, Natalia Hay in 12th, and Cassidy Brown in 15th.

In the boys’ race, the trio of Wyatt Rondot, Ben Hendricks, and Justin Hays ran to a three, four, five finish to lead Bulldogs, while Alek Minkis and Elliot Shaw were not far behind in ninth and tenth places. Mark Bond and Jack Reed finished in the top 20.
