• Brownsburg’s American Legion Women’s Auxiliary hosting annual Fall Festival & Fish Fry this Saturday

    The Brownsburg’s American Legion Women’s Auxiliary will be hosting their annual  Fall Festival & Fish Fry, Saturday, September 22nd  from 10:00am to 8:00pm at the Legion, 636 E. Main in Brownsburg. The Vendor Expo will be open until 6 pm.  First fifty people thru the door will receive a gift bag stuffed with goodies and a free chance at a special door prize.  Vendors include BeautiControl, Thirty-One Bags, Pampered Chef, Tupperware,  Osborne Books, Silpada Jewelry, Dolls, Homemade Gifts, Longaberger and several other vendors.  Lunch will be available from 11:30am to 1:00pm.

    There will be several raffles including one for a Kindle Fire. Tickets for the raffle are currently being sold at the Legion. The Ladies of the Auxiliary will be on hand giving out  information on joining the Auxiliary or JR Auxiliary, renewing memberships, Bake Sale and current fundraising brochures. Membership requirements may be obtained by calling the Legion at 317-852-3200.

    The Fish Fry will be from 3:00pm to 8:00pm.  We are serving fish, hand breaded tenderloins and Kid’s meals.

    Monies raised from this event goes to further the good work that is done by the Auxiliary thru-out the year.  Such as scholarships for needy Veterans children graduating fromBrownsburgHigh School, provide food and clothing at Christmas time and countless hours at theVeteransHospitalvolunteering.

    One of our current projects is helping Hoosier Veteran Assistance Foundation (HVAF).  This organization helps to clothe, feed and provide shelter for Homeless Veterans and their family.  So to add to this great day at the legion, we will be collecting gently used men, women and children’s clothing including shoes. Twin bed sheets, blankets, pillowcases.  HVAF has also asked for food donations such as can goods, complete box meals, canned meats etc.  For further information call Debbie Yearwood at 317-402-2541.
