• Brownsburg West Middle School student wins contest with skin cancer prevention poster

    A Brownsburg West Middle School student is the winner of the 2012 SunWise with SHADE Poster Contest in Indiana. Kyla McNally is an 8th grade student at Brownsburg West Middle School whose poster representing her mother’s battle with Melanoma and her now lifelong need for care was chosen by a panel judges in Washington, DC as the top entry from Indiana and will move on to represent Indiana in the national SunWise with SHADE Poster Contest. All of the state winning posters will be displayed at the National Children’s Museum in Washington, DC this summer. 

    As the state winner, Kyla will receive a digital camera and her health education classroom will receive a sun safety prize pack. 

    Kyla said that she wanted others to learn about skin cancer prevention.

    The national winner will be determined through online voting open to everyone. Voting will take place at https://dcdonline.org/Vote/SHADE/541/UnlockBallot
