• Brownsburg to take part in IMS “Back Home Again in Indiana” contest

The Town of Brownsburg is partnering with the Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce to compete against other communities across the state in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s “Back Home Again in Indiana” community decorating contest.

The theme “Brownsburg: Paving the Way to Indy” acknowledges the many forms of racing represented in our community that help racers make their way up the ladder to compete in the Indianapolis 500. The Town’s entry will honor the legendary Brownsburg drivers who have raced at the IMS’ famed 2.5-mile oval and celebrate young drivers who may have an Indy 500 in their future.

The Brownsburg Town Hall municipal complex and downtown area will be decorated in the racing theme for the month of May and all businesses and residents are encouraged to deck out their properties for the celebration. There will be events and opportunities for Brownsburg-area citizens to compete for Qualifications or Race Day tickets. Like the event Facebook page, facebook.com/BrownsburgBackHomeAgainInIndiana, for more details as they unfold.

The IMS will award $20,000 to the winning community, chosen by public opinion and a panel of celebrity judges. Brownsburg was a Top 10 finalist in the contest last year. If chosen as the winner, the prize money will help fund future community improvement projects through the Brownsburg Community Matching Grants Fund in the Hendricks County Community Foundation.
