• Brownsburg to Hold Consolidation Meetings

    February 22, 2011 No comments

Local residents can provide input on a possible consolidation of Brownsburg and Brown and Lincoln townships beginning in April.

The Brownsburg Consolidation Committee has announced plans to conduct a series of public meetings to allow residents to comment on reports presented by seven subcommittees studying consolidation.

The subcommittee reports will be available to the public prior to the meetings. Two meetings have been scheduled so far with details about additional meetings to follow.

The first two meetings will be from 6 to 9 p.m. April 7 at Brownsburg Town Hall, 61 N. Green St., and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 27 at the Brownsburg Lions Club’s Bundy Lodge, 200 N. Green St.

Civic organization and neighborhood groups can also request a presentation from the consolidation committee by contacting Tony Samuel at tsamuel@samuelsolutionsgroup.com or at (317) 403-2339.

Residents also can attend the consolidation committee’s ongoing meetings at 6 p.m. every Wednesday at Town Hall.

The committee has a year, ending Sept. 12, to prepare a plan and submit it to the legislative bodies of the three areas. If the committee recommends moving forward with consolidation, and the boards approve it, residents in the town and townships would have the final say through a referendum ballot question during the May 2012 primary.
