    August 05, 2011 No comments

In an effort to raise money for a new dog park, the Hendricks County Humane Society is hosting the inaugural Brownsburg BowWOW Bash tomorrow. The dog-friendly event will be held in Williams Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Created by 12 year-old Courtney Sackett, the BowWOW Bash is aimed at being fun for families and their dogs. The event includes several attractions that include vendor booths, dog contests, a temporary dog park, a K9 police unit demonstration and children’s activities. Pet owners will also have the opportunity to take their dog on a one mile walk during the event.

Vendors slated to participate in the BowWOW Bash include “Ask the Vet” veterinarian booths, a pet photographer, PetPals TV and a groomer among others. Along with the pet-centered vendors, pet owners will be able to enter their dogs in competitions including a fetch contest, a Frisbee contest, a Cutest Dog contest and a Best Dog Costume contest.

For participants at the event, the BowWOW Bash will feature appearances by Miss Indiana, Miss Indianapolis and Miss Marion County. There will also be a live DJ throughout the event.

Volunteers are welcome at the event. Interested volunteers should contact Sheryl Sackett by calling (317) 852-3893 or by sending an email to fuzedesigns@mac.com.

Admission to the BowWOW Bash is just $5 for people and dogs are free. Event goers can get $1 off the price of admission by donating dog food or cat food to the Hendricks County Humane Society. Proceeds from the BowWOW Bash go towards a new dog park. For more information, please visit www.hendrickscountyhumanesociety.org.
