• Brownsburg thieves break into cars, use stolen credit cards

    Brownsburg police are looking for two men who they say broke into cars and are now using credit cards they found inside.

    On Nov. 21, between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m., a series of car break-ins happened at two different Brownsburg apartment complexes. A total of 15 vehicles were broken into and 10 of those vehicles reported items being stolen — things like credit cards, check books, book bags, cellular phones and car stereo equipment.

    On Wednesday, Brownsburg Police took another report of a theft from vehicle. The items stolen were a credit card and stereo equipment. A witness gave the suspect vehicle description as a light-colored, four-door passenger vehicle.

    Brownsburg Police estimate the total value loss is approximately $7,000.

    During the course of the investigation the Brownsburg Police Detectives obtained video of two Hispanic men, who appear to be 17 to 21 years old, using victims’ credit cards at several businesses in Brownsburg and Pike Township.
