Brownsburg Tennis Doubles Up on Wins Over the Weekend
August 31, 2010 No commentsThe Brownsburg boys’ varsity tennis team had a great weekend of success, pulling off two HCC victories. At McCutcheon, the ‘Dogs racked up a 5-0 score. Mitchell Trammel, Tyler Hornback, and Sam Gentry had decisive wins in singles. Patrick Clark and Daniel Heinekamp quickly secured a victory at number one doubles while teammates Michael Hartnagel and Josh Ruse collected a point at number two doubles.
The Bulldog jv tennis team put another victory in the books with a score of 6-0. Nathan Mehringer, Evan Krauss, and Nick Wilde all won their singles matches without their opponents scoring a single game against them. All three doubles teams of Michael Smith/Sam McGowan, Jordan Hamilton/Jon Class, and Todd Clark/Matt Irelan brought in big wins to close out the Mavericks.
In the second match of the day, the varsity tennis team played extremely well and held off Harrison with a 4-1 score. Sam Gentry and Tyler Hornback led the way with singles wins, and both teams of Patrick Clark/Daniel Heinekamp and Michael Hartnagel/Nathan Mehringer outshined the opposition with excellent doubles play. While the jv team kept their undefeated streak alive with a 8-1 win over the Raiders! Josh Ruse, Nick Wilde, and Michael Smith landed nice wins in singles for the Bulldogs. Doubles winners were: Evan Krauss/Sam McGowan, Jon Class/Todd Clark, Nick Wilde/Mike Smith, Josh Ruse/Evan Krauss, and Jon Class/Sam McGowan.
