Brownsburg Police Offer Daily Check-In Service
March 17, 2011 No commentsThe Brownsburg Police Department is offering a new program to support the elderly, homebound residents and latch-key children.
The Are You OK program is an automated telephone service that makes daily checks on individuals. The free service calls each day at a pre-arranged time. When the system hears a voice response, it delivers a short prerecorded message.
If the subscriber doesn’t answer after a preset number of call attempts, an alert is given to police and fire officials to check on the person.
For more information or to register, contact Sgt. Pete Fleck by e-mail at pfleck@brownsburgpolice.org or call (317) 852-1109, ext. 2105.
