• Brownsburg police department promotes two to Sergeant

    January 19, 2012 No comments

The Brownsburg Police Commission announced at its recent monthly meeting that after a lengthy, stringent process in place to promote a sergeant to the department, they had two candidates score so closely to one another that the only solution was to promote both.

In a story by Bart Doan in today’s Hendricks County Flyer, he reports that officers Andy Watts and Ben Pyatt were each honored at the meeting with their new titles.

Watts, who came to Brownsburg after starting out as an officer in Indianapolis and then with the Indianapolis Airport, is the training coordinator and keeps tabs on all of the training that the officers are required to complete among countless other duties.

Pyatt, who was already in a supervisory role as he runs the Interstate Criminal Enforcement Team, is in his 13th year with the BPD after starting out with the State Capitol Police.
