• Brownsburg Plan Commission holds public workshops on proposed zoning ordinance sign provisions

    May 21, 2012 No comments

A subcommittee of the Brownsburg Plan Commission will offer a series of workshops to review and discuss the general sign standards of Article 5 of the proposed Zoning Ordinance and an alternative set of standards presented to the commission by the Sign Group.

Workshops will be held at Town Hall, 61 N. Green Street, in the Tech Room. All members of the public are encouraged to attend and participate in the workshops. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide public input and comment at each. This month, workshops will be held at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 21 and Tuesday, May 29. Additional sessions are set for Mondays in June: at 6 p.m., June 4; 7 a.m., June 11; 6 p.m., June 18; and 7 a.m., June 25.

A copy of both sets of sign standards can be viewed at the Planning and Building Department, at the Brownsburg Public Library, or on the Town of Brownsburg’s website at www.brownsburg.org. Those who aren’t able to attend the workshops can provide comments in writing to Planning Director Todd Barker. Please note “RE: Sign Provisions” in the message subject.

The workshops and the opportunity to provide comment do not replace the Plan Commission’s required public hearing that will be conducted prior to taking formal action on the proposed Zoning Ordinance.  Anyone who wants to provide formal input will also need to participate in the public hearing, which will be advertised at a later date.

Contact Todd Barker at 852-1128 or tbarker@brownsburg.org with questions about the workshops, the sign provisions, or the proposed Zoning Ordinance.
