Brownsburg Offers Free Stormwater Education Program
August 30, 2010 No commentsBrownsburg residents can learn how to do something good for the environment and save money on their water bills at the Town of Brownsburg’s free stormwater education program.
Town representatives will discuss stormwater guidelines and requirements
for meeting Environmental Protection Agency and Indiana Department of
Environmental Management standards at the session from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14 in the Tech Plan/Review Meeting Room, Town Hall first floor.Everyone who attends will be eligible for a chance to win a free rain
barrel from the Town. Collecting rainwater from a home’s roof helps
homeowners save both water and money. Using stormwater from downspouts for gardening and lawn care not only keeps pollutants out of our waterways and improves water quality, but it can save up to 40 percent on summer water bills.Attendance is free, but space is limited. Interested residents must
register in advance. Online registration is available on the Town website
at www.brownsburg.org. Contact Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent
Kathy Dillon at kdillon@brownsburg.org or 852-1114 for more information.Posted by Brian Scott in Brownsburg, Local News
