XRB’s Shane Ray will be on hand Monday as the Master of Ceremonies when the Brownsburg Little Leaguers unveil their renovated baseball field during a public event at 6 p.m. on Diamond 1 at Arbuckle Acres Park, 200 N. Green St., Brownsburg.

Local resident Joe Thomson entered the Brownsburg Little League into a national competition called Building Diamonds and Dreams, sponsored by Chevrolet and The Scotts Co. and won one of five nationwide youth baseball field makeovers.

The field refurbishments focused on the aesthetics and playability of the field by providing professional baseball quality materials.

Brownsburg’s baseball tradition includes two recent Little League World Series appearances and a number of players in the college and professional ranks, including current Washington Nationals reliever Drew Storen.

The field-dedication ceremony will be open to the public.
