Brownsburg High School will host a free performance of “DRIP,” a new play about Alzheimer’s Disease, at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The play will be a staged reading performed with full set and costumes, but actors will have scripts in hand, followed by a curtain talk with the playwrights after the show.

Donations will be accepted on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association of Indiana.

One of the playwrights, Israel Stone, said he was inspired by his grandfather’s battle with the disease.

A 2009 graduate of Brownsburg High School, he connected with Nikki Mitchell, a former teacher at BHS, to co-write the play.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5.4 million people are living with Alzheimer’s Disease.

“DRIP” portrays the complex struggle between a patient’s mind and body through the last stages of the disease while also depicting the effect the disease has on a patient’s family and caregivers.
