The administration and staff of Brownsburg High School is inviting the public to join them today at 3:00 p.m. in the high school LGI room to acknowledge Brownsburg High School Senior Krystal Shirrell as Indiana’s top high school youth volunteer in the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program.  A representative from Prudential will be on hand to present a medallion and share a few words about the program. Krystal will be honored at a series of national recognition events May 5-8 in Washington, DC.

Krystal has distinguished herself with community service work, particularly on behalf of military troops and veterans and will be traveling to Washington on May 4 in order to visit with wounded warriors at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  Since this presentation is a prelude to the trip to DC and Krystal’s visit to Walter Reed, donations will be accepted for the wounded warriors.  It could be a bag of M&M’s, a package of Oreo’s or chips, a puzzle book, or DVD.  Krystal is simply collecting snacks and comfort items to be given to patients during the visit.

A short reception will follow the presentation.
