• Brownsburg Farmers Market Starts June 6

    April 24, 2013 No comments

Brownsburg area residents will be able to enjoy locally grown produce, fresh baked goods, and more when the Farmers Market returns to the Town Hall lawn this summer. This year’s market is presented by IU Health West Hospital and the Town of Brownsburg.

The Farmers Market will be held on Thursday afternoons from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., an hour later than last year to help accommodate more residents who have afternoon activities with their children or a long work commute. The market season will be kicked off on June 6 with live entertainment and kids activities on the lawn hosted by Brownsburg Parks. The market will be held through September 5, with no market on July 4.

Cathy Stoll, IU Health West director of marketing and community outreach said, “The Farmers Market on the Town Hall lawn is a spring and summer tradition that celebrates healthy choices.  IU Health West is proud to partner with the Town of Brownsburg to make it easy to access fresh, locally grown produce and to support local growers.  It’s truly a win-win for the community.”

Vendors interested in booth space to sell their goods may contact market master Paula Alkire via e-mail at treehouse1@tds.net or download the vendor application from the Town’s website, www.brownsburg.org. All goods need to be grown or produced in Hendricks County or in a bordering county. No re-sale items will be permitted.

Entertainment will be a new feature at this year’s Farmers Market. Entertainers, performers and artists who would like a showcase may contact Meegan Morgan at mmorgan@brownsburg.org. Acts will receive a complimentary booth space for the group, but must supply their own equipment.
