• Brownsburg Cross-Country Teams Run Strong

    The Brownsburg boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams ran to strong finishes Saturday at the Plainfield Relays, with each team coming home third in the 17 school field.

    On the girls’ side, the pair of Sydney Lesko and Laura Bess ran their way to the individual championship in the six mile relay race, averaging 5:47 per mile. The team of Maddie Webster and Carissa Damler placed fourth overall, and the team of Kyra Jo Gaerke and Jamie Wieder rounded out the scoring for the Dogs. Melissa Harvey and Rachel Smith also contributed well for the varsity.

    The top duo for the boys, placing seventh, was Elliott Shaw and Daniel Purdy, covering the six mile distance in a blistering 5:08 per mile. Wyatt Rondot and Alek Minkis were the number two pair for the Bulldogs, followed by Scott Hathaway and Ben Hendricks. Bradley Bowles had an outstanding race, and Justin Hays was the top Brownsburg finisher in the reserve race.
