• Brownsburg and DAO Partner for Recycling Event on April 16th

    April 07, 2011 No comments

Brownsburg will again partner with Disposal Alternatives Organization for a free drop-off recycling event April 16.

The town’s first recycling event last fall proved to be one of the largest regional turnouts for a Disposal Alternatives event, and it diverted more than eight tons of waste from going to a landfill.

This year, area residents and businesses can drop off old items, such as computers, office equipment and appliances, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brownsburg Fleet Maintenance Facility, 221 S. Mardale Drive.

Other items that will be accepted include plastics, plastic-foam products, cardboard, glass, metals, oil, batteries, medical equipment, computers, wiring and cables, audio and video equipment, office machines, appliances, air conditioners, lawn tools and bicycles.

CRT computer monitors, televisions and mattresses will be accepted for a $5 per item processing fee.

However, toxic chemicals, furniture, wood and clothing will not be accepted.

For more information, call Disposal Alternatives at (317) 375-7788, or visit its website http://daoindy.com.
