• Brownsburg and Avon cross country teams win regional titles

    The Brownsburg boys cross country team took home the Ben Davis regional title over the weekend. The Bulldogs will join Avon who finished third in the regional and the Quakers of Plainfield who finished fifth.

    Individuals who advanced to the semi-state this coming weekend include Ross Hughes, Jon Cramer and Jordan Mueller of Avon. Elliott Shaw, Justin Hayes and Alek Minkis of Brownsburg. Abiel Mogos and Joel Thompson of Plainfield and Levi Musson from Cascade.

    On the girls side, the Avon Orioles took home the regional championship. They will join the Plainfield Quakers at the semi-states this weekend as the Quakers finished fourth at the regional. The Bulldogs of Brownsburg just narrowly missed advancing to semi-states as they lost the tiebreaker with Greencastle for fifth place.

    Individuals advancing to semi-state include Mary Abramson, Courtney Kerr, Megan Price and Hannah Jennings of Avon. Samantha Woodford and Brynn Olinger of Plainfield. Danville’s Megan Newcomer and Brownsburg’s Julia Popenfoose also advanced.

    Both the boys and girls semi-states will take place this Saturday at Carmel at 10:30 in the morning.
