The American Legion Post 331 and the American Legion Auxiliary in Brownsburg will host a send-off party tomorrow from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 331 in Brownsburg for Afghanistan war veteran, Zach Day, as he embarks on a five-month long hike of the Appalachian Trail. Day’s endeavor, Hike for Hoosier Vets, will help raise awareness of the issue of homeless veterans and raise funds for the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation.

Day’s journey will start on June 11 at Mt. Katahdin, Maine and will carry him through 14 states to Georgia’s Springer Mountain in November. Family, friends and supporters are invited to attend the send-off to wish Day well on his 2,200-mile adventure and demonstrate their commitment to the Hike for Hoosier Vets mission.

    Refreshments will be provided.
