Forty-five students from Brownsburg High School visited Charleston, South Carolina during the Fall Recess in October. The students are part of the History Club at BHS. In its second year, the BHS History Club is one of only six chapters in the state of Indiana. This four day trip to Charleston was chaperoned by co-sponsors Dawn Crone and Alecia Adams with 3 other volunteers. The students visited the Middleton Plantation, Hunley Submarine, Magnolia Cemetery, Patriots Point, and toured Ft. Moultrie and the USS Yorktown.
“The trip was truly a learning experience, you delve into history with the present right alongside it. My love for history thrived in this town. Being able to stalk a historic house was also a true thrill for me.” Megan Bock, Senior, History Club Officer
“In one word… Historiffic!” Senior Tyler Westrich
“I’ve never been to South Carolina before, or even to the beach, so it was a first time for everything there for me. The beach was a lot of fun for a first time there and I’m so glad I had such a wonderful group to spend it with!” Junior, M. Rhoades
