This year’s highly anticipated Beasley’s Orchard Corn Maze will literally go to the dogs.
Brett Herbst, the world’s leading professional designer of corn mazes, has once again outdone himself in designing a four-mile maze entitled, “Beasley’s Corn Dog,” in an 8-acre cornfield at Beasley’s Orchard, 2304 E. Main St., Danville.
This year’s design pays homage and brings awareness to animal rescue and adoption as the Beasley family even insisted that the question, “Who Rescues Who?” be incorporated into the design.
“We have invited the animal rescue groups in Hendricks County and the Hendricks County Humane Society to join us at the maze to showcase some of their animals and provide information,” said Debbie Beasley, owner of Beasley’s Orchard. “Each of these organizations is dedicated to finding loving families for homeless animals. We couldn’t be more excited about this year’s maze.”
In its 11th season, Beasley’s Corn Maze has become a local fall favorite, and this year’s design will continue that tradition. Participants can navigate the series of twists and turns by answering a series of questions on a passport.
If a question is answered correctly, the participant will be led in the correct direction. However, if the question is answered incorrectly, those people will be led in the wrong or slightly longer direction. The maze can be navigated in less than 30 minutes, but most parties will take about an hour, Beasley said.
The maze opens Friday, Sept. 20, and will remain open every weekend through Oct. 27. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m., Sundays.
Tickets cost $8 for ages 12 and up, $6 for ages 6-11, and free for kids 5 and under.
Groups of 15 or more can schedule a maze adventure at a discounted rate. The maze also can be combined with one of Beasley’s field trips to the orchard or pumpkin patch.
