Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the death of a bald eagle
    found at Shades State Park.

Shaun Jett, of New Ross, contacted the Indiana Conservation Officers
South Regional Headquarters on the morning of Sunday, April 1, 2012.
He reported that he had found a dead eagle along sugar creek while mushroom hunting.
The message was delivered to Indiana Conservation Corporal Blaine Gillan. Cpl. Gillan
met with Jett at Shades State Park and recovered the carcass of the eagle.  The eagle
was located in the extremely remote western portion of Shades State Park just inside
Parke County.  Initial observations of the bald eagle did not indicate any foul play.
    The investigation is ongoing.
