• Award winning photographer to be guest speaker for 5th annual “Walk with Haiti”

    The St. Malachy Catholic Church is welcoming people to join the parishioners and friends of of the church for the fifth annual ʻWalk With Haitiʼ walk/run on Saturday, April 28, at Williams Park in Brownsburg. 

    Registration and opening activities begin at 8:30 am. A timed three-mile run is scheduled to start at 9:00 am and walkers will begin at 9:30. 

    Free coffee and doughnuts will be available for all who attend! Browse the silent auction tables, enjoy the camaraderie, and get some good exercise all while helping a great cause. 

    Proceeds will benefit St. Malachyʼs sister parish, Ste. Marguerite Church, in Port Margot Haiti. Current projects include improvements to the medical clinic, dental office, pharmacy, and grade school, and expansion of water purification programs. 

    This yearʼs walk will feature guest speaker, Amy King of Provocate–Haiti. Amy is an award-winning photographer and ardent advocate of all things Haitian. She devotes a great deal of her time, energy and resources to the people of Haiti. The by-line of Provocate–Haiti is to ʻthink globally, act locallyʼ: connecting and helping to further the efforts of not-governmental organizations and other agencies in the central Indiana area who serve those in need in Haiti. Amy will share some of the experiences and insights she has garnered in the past five years since she first began working in Haiti.
