Avon’s Kendall Griffin Named as Star POY
December 13, 2010 No commentsAlthough Kendall Griffin will play Division I college basketball at Wright State University next season, his football coach said he could have spent his collegiate years on the gridiron.
Avon coach Mark Bless said “He’s definitely a Division I football player at receiver,”.
Griffin’s numbers back up the claim. Coming off an All-West junior season, the 6-4, 190-pound wideout posted a career-best 1,047 yards and 13 touchdowns on 49 catches, giving the Orioles a valuable offensive weapon while they went 9-4 and won their first sectional championship since 2005.
So although his future lies in another sport, Griffin is the 2010 Indianapolis Star All-West Football Player of the Year.
