Megan Brown, a senior at Avon High School, was recently awarded with the $1,000 Hendricks County Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Tourism and Hospitality Scholarship. Megan plans to study business and tourism event management/planning at Tulane University in New Orleans.

As part of its ongoing mission to promote the tourism and hospitality industry, the Hendricks County Convention and Visitors Bureau offers the scholarship to a graduating senior from any Hendricks County high school who is a resident of the county and is planning a career in a tourism-related field.

“We are pleased to offer this scholarship to Megan as she pursues a career in the hospitality industry,” said Emory Lencke, executive director of the HCCVB. “We truly believe in the benefits of this profession.”

Brown, accompanied by her grandmother, accepted the award last week during the Hendricks County Tourism Commission’s regular meeting.
