Avon seeks second straight football sectional championship
November 01, 2011 No commentsThe Avon Oriole football team will play for their second straight sectional championship Friday night when they host the Giants of Ben Davis.
Avon advanced to the championship game by knocking off the Pike Red Devils for the third year in a row by the score of 24-21 last Friday night. The win extended the Orioles winning streak to ten straight games with a season opening loss to Hamilton Southeastern being Avon’s only blemish.
Ben Davis enters the sectional championship game with a record of 9-2 after defeating Brownsburg Friday night 38-31 in double overtime. The Giants overcame a 17 point fourth quarter deficit before finally scoring the deciding touchdown in the second overtime.
