Expectant and new moms can participate in yoga classes provided by Indiana University Health West beginning next week.

The newest series of prenatal yoga and mom and baby yoga, which are taught by a certified instructor, help prepare expectant moms for birth and help reduce aches and pains related to pregnancy.

Participants can register for all six classes for $90 or join single classes, as their schedules allow for $15 each. Although tailored to pregnant women and new moms, anyone can register. Scholarships are available if needed.

The six-week sessions are held on Saturdays beginning April 16 with prenatal yoga from 10:30-11:45 a.m. and mom and baby yoga from noon to 1:15 p.m. at the Day Nursery, 1351 N. Ronald Reagan Parkway in Avon just north of the hospital.

No previous yoga experience is required. To register, go online to www.iuhealth.org/childbirth or call (317) 962-1478.
