Avon cross-coutry teams sweep sectional
October 12, 2011 No commentsThe Avon Orioles recorded their second sectional sweep with both the boys and girls cross country teams winning the South Putnam sectional yesterday. The Oriole’s Jordan Mueller finished first overall in the boy’s sectional and six other Avon runners finished in the top 20. Brownsburg, Plainfield and Cascade also placed well enough to move on to the Ben Davis regional this weekend.
Avon’s girls cross country team entered their sectional ranked #7 and showed their strength with all seven of their runners finishing in the top 11. Avon’s Malyka Abramson finished first overall. Avon will be joined at the Ben Davis regional this Saturday by fellow Hendricks County schools Brownsburg, Plainfield and Tri-West.
Avon’s boys and girls soccer teams each won their respective sectional championships over the weekend.
