The Hendricks County Community Foundation is partnering with Lilly Endowment, Inc. to select two Hendricks County high school seniors as nominees for the 2012 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program.

The scholarship provides full tuition, required fees, and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis, leading to a baccalaureate degree at any Indiana public or private college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

To be eligible, students must be Hendricks County residents, be ranked in the top 15 percent grade point average of their class, be involved in significant community service activities throughout their high school career, be involved in extracurricular activities, graduate by the end of June 2012 with a diploma from a regionally accredited Indiana high school, and be accepted to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study at an accredited public or private college or university in Indiana.

Applications must be submitted online and they may be accessed via the Hendricks County Community Foundation website at http://www.hendrickscountycf.org/scholarships/lilly_scholars/.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 15.

The Hendricks County Community Foundation manages an $8 million collection of funds that were created by individuals, families, businesses, and organizations for charitable purposes.

For more information, call the foundation at 718-1200 or visit the website at www.hendrickscountycf.org.
