• Annual Woodworker’s exhibition and sale to be held at Eagle Creek Park

    Over a dozen woodworkers will showcase their artwork at the 21st annual Woodcarver, Woodturner and Woodburner exhibition and sale Feb. 25-26 at Eagle Creek Park’s Earth Discovery Center,5901 Delong Rd., overlooking the reservoir.

    Worksmiths from across the state will display artwork, both artistic and functional, depicting wildlife, flora and fauna and/or traditional Native Americans. Artists will talk with visitors about their unique craft and demonstrate how they create their various works, some on woodturning lathes.

    While art enthusiasts enjoy watching demonstrations, children are welcome to try their hand at carving bars of soap with various kid-friendly tools.

    Exhibit hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Admission is free with $5 per vehicle park admission.

    In addition to the ongoing monthly artist series, this exhibition is the first of three nature-themed art shows scheduled at EagleCreekParkfor 2012.
