• Abandoned Vehicles Will Be Towed

    December 05, 2013 No comments

The Indianapolis State Police Post, would like to remind the public that due to the strong possibility of inclement weather arriving in the Indianapolis District this afternoon, abandoned vehicles left on the interstate system will be towed.

“Abandoned vehicles on the interstate system during snow/ice conditions present a safety hazard for the motoring public and the INDOT snow plow drivers” stated Payne. “Towing the abandoned vehicles will remove an obstacle that the motoring public could crash into and an obstacle that a snow plow driver has to work around during the inclement weather.”

For Indiana road conditions call 1- 800-261-7623, or visit the Indiana Department of Transportation website at www.trafficwise.in.gov. Please do not call dispatch centers for road conditions. Telecommunications operators will be extremely busy dispatching equipment and personnel to motorists requiring emergency assistance.
