• #7 ranked Lady Bulldogs tip-off season with 59-47 win over Decatur Central

    The girl’s high school basketball season gets underway this week and the number 7 ranked in class 4-A Brownsburg Bulldogs tipped off their season last night against Decatur Central. The Bulldogs who lost seven seniors off of last year’s squad started slowly and were trailing at the half by the score 26-20 before pulling away in the second half defeating the Hawks by the score of 59-47.

    Bulldog center Stephanie Mavunga had a team high 17 points and seniors Alex Shipley and Katie Reinhardt each added 10 points.

    Junior guard Kayle Comer had nine points in the contest all of them coming in the second half as she hit back-to-back three’s to close out the third quarter and give the Bulldogs the lead for good at 40-36.

    Decatur Central’s Lexus Murry had a game high 20 points and nine rebounds for the Hawks.

    Next up for the Lady Bulldogs is their home opener on Saturday when they will host Ben Davis. Tip-off at the Varsity Fieldhouse is set for 7:30.
