Indianapolis police say a 34-year-old woman is in critical condition after being shot in the face early Saturday morning.

Police say Tamara Pratt was shot in the head at the Meridian Square Townhomes near 86th and Meridian just before 2 am Saturday.

Police say the alleged shooter left the scene and was later seen at a rest stop along I-65, where police located the suspected vehicle.

As officers approached the vehicle, the suspect fled and officers finally caught him using stop sticks. The suspect’s vehicle tires became deflated and the car came to a stop. Police had to use a taser on the man after he resisted law enforcement.

After a 41 mile police chase, police arrested 34 year old Ronald M. Moore of Indianapolis for the shooting.

Moore was taken into custody on suspicion of felony Resisting Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving, and Operating While Intoxicated in relation to the vehicle pursuit, according to reports.

Police reports state that Moore is currently in the White County Memorial Hospital and will be transferred to Wishard later.

Police say Moore and Pratt were in a domestic relationship, but do not know any further details of why the shooting occurred.

The victim was transported to Saint Vincent Hospital to undergo surgery.
